Sybil Hess Phelps is a Milford, Michigan-based textile enthusiast, with experience creating crafts using a wide range of fibres. Originally a quilter, she expanded to basketry, which she studied in Costa Rica. More recently, she has combined her weaving skills with fabric coiling and dried gourd crafts, incorporating stones, weeds and flowers to create unique, functional and decorative pieces.
This site features a range of Sybil's fibre art, notably her work involving coiled batik fabrics and dried gourds. Please use the links at right to navigate through galleries of fabric, woven gourd and felted arts and crafts.
